Muffins are a great treat for dessert or breakfast. There are so many kinds to make- blueberry, apple walnut, banana nut, cranberry, and raisin bran to name just a few. Use fresh fruits whenever possible and substitute whole grain flour instead of white flour for an even healthier version.
Another all-time favorite is homemade cheesecake. You can make anything from pumpkin cheesecake to white chocolate to espresso cheesecake. You’ll need a spring-form pan for the cake and a few other miscellaneous kitchen tools such as a whisk, small saucepan, and a mixer. Properly wrapped, this dessert can be frozen for up to 2 months if you’d like to make an extra batch for an upcoming event.
Macaroons made the elegant French-style way are wonderful as well. They’re made by baking a layer of ganache filling inside 2 round, smooth cookies.
