Product Review: A Great Chef’s Pan
When my sister got her first apartment after graduating from college she needed everything. I wanted to buy her a housewarming gift that was practical, that she would use, and that she could keep for a long time. As I unpacked her box of kitchenware I was amused and horrified by what she had inherited. Obviously, she was going to need something decent to cook with and I knew immediately what I was going to buy her. Unlike my sister, I have a kitchen full of pots and pans to choose from when I’m cooking. Most of them sit gathering dust in the pantry because for most of my everyday cooking needs I use this versatile chef’s pan. At four quarts, it’s the perfect size to meet most of my stove top cooking needs. I’ve made pasta dishes, rice dishes, sautéed meat, whipped together omelets, and even made soup in mine.
Why is this a great pan for a new or experienced cook? For one, it’s dishwasher safe. It can also go in the oven, which is great if a dish calls for time on the stove top and in the oven. Would you like to make a roast beef? Well this chef’s pan is up to the job. Another great feature is the ergonomic handle with a smaller handle opposite to ensure you can get a good grip on the pan, minimizing accidents. The gift, by the way, was a success. Just this week she had us over for dinner, and made delicious chicken tortilla soup in her new chef’s pan. You simply cannot go wrong purchasing a quality pan like this one from Gourmet Standard.
